Overview:
The Town’s Drinking Water Quality Management System Plan (DWQMS) has identified areas in the Town that require watermain replacement. A neighbourhood in Fonthill consisting of Elm Avenue, Giles Crescent, Burton Avenue, and Linden Avenue requires watermain replacement due to the age and condition of the existing infrastructure. The neighbourhood has approximately 380m of 150mm Ø cast-iron watermain. The purpose of this engineering assignment is to complete the detailed design, prepare the tender documents, provide assistance during the tendering process, and provide Contract Administration and Construction
Inspection services for the construction phase of the project (Note: the CA and Inspection services are provisional to the contract and may be awarded at the same time as the construction contract is awarded). The design is to include the replacement of the existing watermain and all water services to the property line, complete with trench restoration, for Elm Avenue, Giles Crescent, Burton Avenue, and Linden Avenue.
The full scope of work is described in Appendix “A” to this Request for Proposal (“RFP”). Bids must respond to all terms, conditions, specifications and special instructions in Appendix “A”. Bids that do not respond to all items in Appendix “A” are non-compliant with this RFP and will be disqualified. Bids will be evaluated based on the criteria set out in this RFP.
